Norristown Firefighters know what it means to have a full moon on Friday the 13th. Shortly after 4pm, firefighters were called to the 700 Blk of Kohn St for smoke from the building. Firefighters found that fire had consumed parts of the second and third floors of the building, with some extension to the neighbors home. A number of neighboring fire companies provided assistance and coverage for the rest of the town.
At 7pm, less than an hour after the last units cleared Kohn St. Norristown was once again called out for smoke in the area of High and Marshall Sts. While checking the area, firefighters noticed smoke coming from the old Washington School building. Firefighters made entry and found fire in the stage area of the old auditorium. Again, a number of neighboring fire companies assisted. All units finally cleared around 9pm and firefighters had a quite rest of the evening to recover.
