Norristown Fire Department

An amazing partner in promoting Fire Safety in our community. At tonight’s work session, Musselman Learning Center gave us a presentation on their partnership with the Norristown Fire Department for their safety blitz program. This partnership became necessary in 2016 when our district lost two students to an overnight fire in their home. Musselman honors them daily by implementing fire safety programs and activities year-round to increase fire safety awareness. Thank you Deputy Chief Lockhart for your commitment to fire safety in our schools and community. ... See MoreSee Less

This morning the NFD and Plymouth Ambulance responded to Green St for 10 people sickened by (CO) Carbon Monoxide. CO is colorless, tasteless, odorless and deadly; and if not for everyone in the house vomiting, the occupants may have NEVER woken up. The house did have CO detectors but the batteries were dead or missing. It is extremely important to having WORKING smoke and CO detectors in your home and to test them monthly. #norristownfire #norristown #nfd19401 #silentkiller #carbonmonoxideawareness #carbonmonoxidepoisoning #carbonmonoxidedetector ... Got mine installed about 2 months ago, with new smoke alarms..

I was told that because my sump pump has a (car) battery for back-up that a CO detector will not work properly in my house. Is this true?

Highly recommend LOW LEVEL CO monitors if your gonna buy any

I hope everyone is okay.

It’s always a good idea to have a carbon monoxide detector in your home. It’s definitely worth the $20 it costs.

thanks Kimberly for sharing

Thank you 1st responders.

Ryan Hunsicker

That explains the sirens for like 20 minutes

Hopefully everyone is okay

Costco set of 3 first alert carbon monoxide alarms 5 year battery $49.99
