The Norristown Fire Department announced today their annual Thanksgiving Dinner drive for Norristown families in need. Approximately 100 Norristown families will find comfort that first responders will again be providing them family-sized meals for a bountiful Thanksgiving this year. The fire department has coordinated this event going for several years after recognizing a need in the community. “The Fire Department looks for opportunities to give back. It’s an initiative we hold close to our hearts,” said Fire Chief Tom O’Donnell.
Full family-sized turkey dinners with all the trimmings will be provided to selected families by the Norristown Fire Department staff and volunteers on Nov. 21. Many meals are slated to be delivered right to a family’s home. A quick pick-up system is being coordinated at a local firehouse or at the family’s school.
If you are, or know of, a family in need, please contact Capt. Dana Lee by email at dlee@norristown.org by Nov. 11.
